Beyond the Narrative Magazine
Inspired by artist Cupco and a Zine created by myself, Beyond the Narrative is a magazine that reflects on how mythology was influenced by our reality and vice versa. Within this group project, I was given the role of art director and lead editor of the magazine.
Each member was given a topic to focus on and research mythology that reflects their topic. For my spreads, I focused on the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes and fire, Pele, and her connection with the environment. I aimed to create an illustration that were visually dynamic yet balanced alongside the text.
